HUMBOLDT - Helen W. Schultz, 93, of Humboldt, formerly of Lake Worth, FL, passed away November 18, 2012 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 5, 2012 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
Mrs. Schultz is survived by her daughters, Janet Gunnersen of Melbourne, FL, and Bonnie (Randy) Watnem of Humboldt; grandchildren, Shelly (Terry) Bickel of Humboldt and Ryan Watnem of Humboldt; and her sister-in-law, Ada Ruth Coburn of Overland Park, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Damon Schultz; her parents, Fred and Agnes Flake; and her son-in-law, Alf Gunnersen.
Helen Willamina Flake, the daughter of Fred and Agnes (Fallesen) Flake, was born October 7, 1919 in Humboldt, Iowa. She received her education in various schools in the Humboldt area.
On June 1, 1941, Helen was united in marriage to Damon Schultz, who was originally from Paola, Kansas. The couple farmed in the Gilmore City and Humboldt areas before moving with their two daughters to Lake Worth, Florida in March of 1955.
In addition to being a homemaker and mother, Helen was involved in activities at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Lake Worth. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, and crafts.
After the passing of her husband, Damon in 2003, Helen moved to the Humboldt Care Center North in January 2005.
