MARSHALLTOWN - The Fort Dodge boys and girls bowling teams battled Central Iowa Conference Northern Division rival Marshalltown Thursday night.

The Dodger boys dropped a 3,171-2,951 decision, while the FDSH girls prevailed, 2,440-2,018.

Drew Hanson (233-213-446) and Jacob Ladlie (173-268-441) paced the Dodger boys.

Leading the way for the Fort Dodge girls were Allison Birnbaum (153-191-344) and Christina Hemann (159-168-327).

"I thought our effort was perfect, but we just got outcoached," said Dodger head coach Don Ervin. "Our boys started out good and just ran out of steam. It's driving me nuts that I can't put my finger on what went wrong."

In junior varsity boys action, FDSH came out on the short end, 2,603-1,969. Zach Casey (165-147-312) rolled the top score for the Dodgers.
