Meridians seek support

MANSON - The Manson Meridian Singers are looking for individual and corporate sponsors to support the group financially through their Friends program.

Each year, as the Manson Meridian Singers prepare for their annual production, they look toward the future of the group by planning for the financial stability of the organization. Members who are selected for the group pay dues. However, member's dues and ticket sales alone are not enough to totally support this annual presentation. Also supporting the group is the Friends program.

Several levels of Friends support are available, and include Platinum, $100; Gold, $75; Silver, $50; and Bronze, $25. There is also a Corporate Level available for a donation of $250. As a reward for these monetary donations, the Meridian Singers will offer a special Friends' performance at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31. This special performance is only available to persons who contribute at one of the five levels listed, and is not open to the general public. Platinum Friends will receive 8 tickets to this special performance, while Gold Friends receive 6 tickets, Silver receives 4 tickets, and Bronze receives 2 tickets. Corporate sponsors receive 20 tickets for this performance. Seating for this performance is on a first-come, first-served basis, with no seats reserved. Doors will open at 7 p.m. As in past years, Friends names will also be listed in the program. These Friends tickets will be mailed out sometime in mid-January.

Anyone wishing to become a Friend of the Meridian Singers, and who may not have been contacted yet, can send their donations, no later than Dec. 31, to Manson Meridian Singers Friends Program, PO Box 25, Manson, IA 50563. Be sure to include a listing of how you want your name, organization, or business listed in the program, and where the Friends tickets can be sent.

"The Meridian Singers have sincerely appreciated everyone who has supported the Friends program in past years," said Director Jerrold Jimmerson. "They feel extremely fortunate to know that there are individuals, businesses, and organizations within the greater Manson area that place a high level of importance on the Fine Arts and music performance, and are willing to show it through their continued financial support."

This year marks the 42nd consecutive season that the Meridians have presented their annual production to the public. This year's show, "Any Dream Will Do," will be presented on Feb. 2 and 3, 2013.
