The Fort Dodge City Council will begin working on the 2013-2014 budget when it meets Monday.
But before turning to the budget, the elected officials will consider awarding raises for non-union employees and handle a zoning proposal.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.
During that meeting, council members are expected to act on a 2.5 percent raise for management and non-union employees. If approved, that increase would be effective Jan. 1.
The council will consider approving the initial reading of a zoning measure that would allow buildings on part of Fifth Avenue South to be up to 80 feet away from the front property line.
Following the regular business meeting, the council will have a budget workshop discussion. It will focus on the spending plans for the sanitary sewer system, the water system and the road use tax.
