The Iowa Central women's basketball team posted a 65-55 ICCAC victory over Marshalltown Saturday afternoon at Hodges Fieldhouse.
After building a commanding 35-18 lead at the half, the Tritons (8-3 overall, 1-1 in the league) were never seriously challenged the rest of the way.
Babaya Oja paced Iowa Central with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Jade Gregory and Katie Dentlinger each tallied nine points for the Tritons. Dentlinger also pulled down seven rebounds, while St. Edmond graduate Lydia Harvey grabbed six boards.
"The story of the game was our defense," said ICCC head coach Craig Carlson. "We didn't shoot the ball well and had 24 turnovers, but we were still able to win a basketball game."
Shana Lee (13), Latrice McMullen (12) and Mady Van Metre (10) all scored in double figures for the Tigers (3-7, 0-2).
