Robert R. Skinner, 86, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
A service honoring Robert's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 24 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Sersland officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery with military honors being presented. The visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
Robert is survived by his wife, two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
ROBERT R. SKINNER
Robert Ray Skinner, the son of Earl and Maude (Wignall) Skinner, was born September 24, 1926 in Farnhamville. He graduated from Farnhamville High School and then enlisted in the Navy where he served from 1944 to 1946. On January 26, 1952, Robert was united in marriage to Lorraine Lind in Badger. He worked for Brady Transport in Fort Dodge and then was employed with Tobin (Hormel) Packing Company for 32 years before retiring.
Robert was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling to different places with Lorraine, trapshooting, photography and spending time at the lake where he could water ski and drive a boat.
