Making its final appearance of 2012, the St. Edmond wrestling team encountered a bump in the road Friday night.

In a makeup North Central Conference dual meet, the Gaels (2-4 overall, 1-3 NCC) suffered a 42-29 setback to Algona at the SEHS gym.

Ryan Szalat (106), Colten Lastine (113), fifth-ranked (Class 1A) Kaden McClintock (120), Parker Huebsch (145), No. 4 Teddie Harvey (152) and top-ranked Vinnie Harvey (220) all prevailed for St. Edmond.

Szalat and Vinnie Harvey each collected pins for the Gaels, improving to 11-2 and 14-0 on the season, respectively.

Lastine and Teddie Harvey added major decisions for SEHS. Teddie Harvey, a two-time state qualifier, is now 12-0 this year and 112-26 in his career.

"This dual was a good test for us and a measuring stick to know where we need to improve," said SEHS head coach Tanner Utley. "We're battling through some injuries right now, but hopefully we can get rolling after the break."
