John "Jack" A. Griffin, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday December 21, 2012 at the Fort Dodge Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 27th at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 1:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home where there will be a Vigil at 7:00 p.m.
Survivors include his son, John Griffin of Fort Dodge, and his granddaughter, Megan griffin of Fort Dodge, and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Greg and Bruce Griffin, a granddaughter Sarah Griffin, and his wife Lorene in 2007.
John A. Griffin was born on November 11, 1928 in Fort Dodge. he attended schools here and graduated from Corpus Christi Academy. Following his education he went to work for the Rail Road. Jack then enlisted with U.S. Army, serving in Korea, until his honorable discharge. On January 29, 1957 he was united in marriage to Lorene Schwieger at Fairmont, MN. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Jack then went to work for the Fort Dodge Fire Department for 32 years retiring as the assistant fire chief. He and Lorene spent many winters in Texas. Jack enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and raising Champion Pure Bred Labrador's for a number of years.
