BARNUM - Marlene Joy Collier, 81, of Barnum, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A service honoring Marlene's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Prochaska officiating. The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.

Marlene is survived by her children, Joe Collier, Farnhamville; Diana (Dennis) Attleson, Denham Springs, Louisiana; a son-in-law Merlin Dutcher, Barnum; ten grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her daughter Lois Dutcher, her daughter-in-law Janis Collier, two grandsons, Terry Witte Jr., and Chad David Habben and her parents Lewis and Frances Schroeder.

Marlene was born on December 4, 1931 in Fort Dodge and attended school at Barnum. On May 11, 1947, Marlene was united in marriage to Joe Collier. Marlene worked for 24 years at the Barnum Locker. She also provided care for homebound people.

Marlene enjoyed trips to Texas with friends, playing poker, dancing and fishing. Marlene especially treasured time spent with her family.
