EARLY - Investigators in western Iowa are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death of a woman whose remains were discovered while investigating another crime.

Around 8 a.m. Thursday, the Sac County Sheriff's Office began investigating an alleged kidnapping. They arrested Kirk R. Levin, 21, and charged him with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, assault while participating in a felony and third-degree kidnapping, according to a statement from Sac County Sheriff Ken McClure.

He's accused of driving her from her home in Storm Lake to 2242 Ira Ave., where he held her against her will and told her she was being kidnapped, McClure said.

Currently this death is being treated as suspicious in nature and an autopsy will be conducted by the Iowa State Medical Examiner in Ankeny. Law enforcement officials have not released the name of the victim in the suspicious death case.

The investigation into the kidnapping and death is being investigated by the Sac County Sheriff's office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and Storm Lake Police Department. The Buena Vista County Sheriff's office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted in the initial search for Levin.
