She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Dale Schulze, Russell "Bosko" Terwilliger, and Dwight Smith; her son, Steven Smith; and her siblings, Royal Hansen, Shirley Porter, and Ellen Jeffers.

Georgia Ann Hansen was born May 12, 1928 to George and Sarah (Knutson) Hansen on the family farm near Humboldt. When Georgia was eight years old, her father retired from farming due to his health and the family moved into Humboldt. She graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1946 and took a job in the offices of Dr. Asa Arent before going to work for Sisson's Consumer Grocery Store. Georgia then went to work for the Humboldt County Relief Office and part-time for Hood's Grocery in Humboldt.

On November 27, 1949, Georgia was united in marriage to Dale Thompson Schulze and the couple had three children, Steven, Virginia Ann, and Jim. Mr. Schulze passed away in October of 1969 and on September 4, 1976, she married Russel (Bosko) Terwilliger. Mr. Terwilliger passed away in April of 1983 and on November 27, 1987, she married Dwight M. Smith. Mr. Smith passed away in December of 1992.

After her children were raised, Georgia returned to work, first for the Humboldt County Assessors Office, then for the Humboldt County Auditor under Auditor's Orin Nelson, Larry Lerdal, and Jerry Diedrick until her retirement in October of 1989.

Georgia was a lifetime member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Worthwhile Club, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, the Republican Women, the Humboldt County Historical Society, and the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and embroidery and for many years she and her family harvested and sold walnut meats from the trees that lined her house.
