LU VERNE — Chuck and Linda Merkle, of LuVerne, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the LuVerne Community Center.

Chuck Merkle and Linda Schnetzer were married Jan. 26, 1963, in Yankton, S.D. She is currently employed by the LuVerne School District, and he is retired from farming and Gold-Eagle Co-op.
