To the editor:
Over the past year and a half I have been welcomed into the Fort Dodge public schools as an authorized substitute teacher and more than ever I am convinced "we get what we pay for."
Fort Dodge citizens need to step up and support the upcoming school levy. We need to make certain that the kids of today who will be the adults of tomorrow, are able to provide the goods and services we will need as older adults. The new middle school will help achieve the goal of a great education today, but new technology and great teachers are not free. If we as a community settle for the cheapest route into the future we will not only short change our kids' education, we will short change our own future.
I would encourage us all to vote "yes" on Feb. 5 and to invest in our kids' education and our future.
