The Iowa Central basketball teams will host Iowa Lakes today inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
The Triton women (18-8 overall, 9-4 ICCAC) will face the Lakers (8-20, 4-10) at 1 p.m. for Sophomore Day.
The Iowa Central men (16-12, 6-6) will entertain No. 8 Iowa Lakes (21-5, 10-2) at 3 p.m.
In the last meeting, the Triton women earned a 66-44 road victory.
"They outscored us in the second half,'' said Iowa Central head coach Craig Carlson. "They're a pretty athletic and quick team."
Katie Dentlinger is the Trtions' leading scorer at 11.7 points per contest.
Babaye Oja (9-5), Miliakere Koyamainavure (9.6) and Lydia Harvey (7.5) are also near double digits.
The Lakers are led by Myangel Johnson (11.9). Carla Barrera (9.4) and Leah Courtney?(9.1) are also top scorers.
"We have to handle their pressure,'' Carlson said. "We have played two tough defenses the last two times out.
"I like how our team has made great improvements.''
The Iowa Central men will play the first contest on Dennis Pilcher Court as they face a tough Laker squad.
In the first contest, the Tritons suffered a 63-55 setback.
"They're first place, ranked eighth,'' Pilcher said. "We struggled down there, but only lost by eight. "Hopefully we'll be at full strength.''
Sophomore Rhys Elliot (16.2) comes in as Iowa Central's leading scorer.
Also averaging double figures is Jesse Jones?(11.7) and David Andersen (10.8).
The Lakers are paced by Deondre Parks (14.8), Kelly Madison (14.6), Ben Shellim (13.3) and Josh Schaben?(11.5).
"We have to play great defense,'' Pilcher said. "We have to work inside out and kick it back out.
"It's going to take a great team effort.''
