Iowa entrepreneurs can get information at the Renew Rural Iowa Business Success Seminar Tuesday at the Iowa Central Community College, Bioscience and Health Sciences Building.
Renew Rural Iowa seminars bring together seasoned business experts and critical resources, allowing entrepreneurs to tap into an array of services, all at one time, according to Sandy Ehrig, economic development administrator for Renew Rural Iowa, a program of Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. Presenters share real company examples to entrepreneurs with any level of experience, from startups to major corporations.
"People with an idea for a business or those already in business looking to grow will find this program valuable," said Lisa Shimkat, Small Business Development director. "Starting a business or growing an existing business is exciting and challenging. This program will walk participants through keys to business success and introduce them to key resources in our central Iowa region."
The one-day seminar is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a VentureNet Iowa live demonstration from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The seminar features "The Recipe for Business Success" presented by Curt Nelson, author and president of Entrepreneurial Development Center Inc. "Baking & Business 101" gives an insightful look at what defines successful business ingredients and how to create them.
The seminar guides people through all phases of developing and operating a successful business, including strategic fit, business planning, marketing, balanced teams, leadership and resources. Participants will have opportunities to network with other entrepreneurs.
"It is important to the Growth Alliance to support programs like this. The growth of our existing industry is a key component to the region's success," said Kelly Halsted, economic development director for the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance.
Participants can register online via the Renew Rural Iowa website, www.renewruraliowa.com or call (800) 254-9670. The event is free.
