Northfield Church will present a five-week sermon and discussion series, beginning Sunday, in conjunction with the History Channel docudrama series, "The Bible." The church is at 2933 North 15th St.
Sunday services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. will feature a sermon series based on content from "The Bible." Each sermon will be based on one of the two Biblical stories which will be shown that night at 7 p.m. on the History Channel.
From 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, the Adult Education group will feature a DVD study based on the series. There will be small group discussion of the other story that was shown Sunday night.
"The church is excited to be able to invite everyone in the Greater Fort Dodge Area to attend this unique series and hopes many will as a result see the Bible in a whole new way," said the Rev. Dale Harlow.
"The Bible" is filmed on location in the Middle East and Morocco, made with the input of Christian scholars and leaders.
""The series is breathtaking in scope and scale," Harlow said. "It features powerful performances, exotic locales and dazzling visual effects that breathe life into the dramatic tales of faith and courage from Genesis through Revelation. This historic event has been designed to entertain and inspire the whole family and come to a close on Easter Sunday."
