POMEROY - Ivo J. Kinney - age 87, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, formerly of Pomeroy passed away on March 5, at his home in Bella Vista.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, March 11, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pomeroy with Rev. Lawrence McCarty and Deacon Robert Lenz officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at Pomeroy.

Visitation will be 4 - 7 PM , Sunday, March 10, at The Michael Loterbour-Powers Funeral Home in Pomeroy.

Prayer service will be 7 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.

Ivo Joseph Kinney, age 87, passed away at his home in Bella Vista, Arkansas on March 5, 2013.

Ivo was born in Alton, Iowa, on May 29, 1925, to Kathryn (Arens) and James Kinney. He was raised and attended school in Alton. He served in the US Army during WWII stationed in Italy.

Ivo married Josephine Baker on September 29, 1947, in Alton, Iowa. They owned and operated Pomeroy Cleaners from 1955 to 1987 and Fonda Cleaners and Kinney's New and Used from 1971 until retiring in 1987. Jo passed away on August 13, 1985. Ivo married Mary Klinzing on October 2, 1987, in Des Moines. They moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, in 1989.

Ivo was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista. In his spare time Ivo enjoyed playing golf, bowling, fishing and hunting. He and Mary were active in many card clubs. Ivo enjoyed spending time with his family, especially celebrating the 4th of July at their home on Lake Ann.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Klinzing; and children: Marge (Jerry) Ellingson, Lincoln, NE; Jack (Jane) Kinney, Des Moines; Jeanne Kinney, Bancroft; LuAnne (Gary) Julius, Humboldt; Bob (Kathy) Kinney, Tampa, Florida; Carol (Dave) Mann, Fort Dodge; Scott (Deb) Kinney, Pella; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Step-children Marty (Anna) Klinzing, California; Deb Klinzing (Jerry Menadue), Des Moines; 2 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild.

Ivo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo in 1985; and siblings: Bernard, Joseph, James, Robert, Magdelan Cheboski, Albertha Niehus, and Viola Hanson.
