The St. Edmond High School speech team succeeded Feb. 23 at the Individual District Speech Contest at Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona.
Ten students participated in 15 events. Performing were:
Freshman - Jennifer Curtis, improvisation and acting; sophomores - Maggie Fitzgerald, poetry and prose; Rafferty Naughton improvisation and public address; Maric Salocker in poetry and prose; and Ashley Salter, poetry and prose; seniors - Theresa Birzer, public address; Michelle Curtis, solo musical theater; Mary Eide, reviewing; Jazmine Myers, storytelling; and Allie Oberg, solo musical theater.
Four St. Edmond students advanced to the state contest held Saturday at Algona High School: seniors Curtis, Oberg and Eide, and sophomore Salter in both poetry and prose.
