NEWS: It was the 100th anniversary of the first train to cross the high bridge over the Des Moines River in Fort Dodge.

SPORTS: Michael Loney, Jared Josten, Justin Fickbohn, Max Crimmins, Zak Clark, Ryan Williams, Bryan Claude and Adam Arndorfer were picked for the North Central Conference boys basketball first team.

NEWS: Phyllis Stewart, of rural Duncombe, announced she would run for a seat on the Webster County Board of Supervisors.

SPORTS: Fort Dodge's Alyssa Stiff was first in the all-around and the vault in the Class IV 12-14 age division in a gymnastics triangular with Des Moines South Suburban and Newton.

NEWS: The Rev. Eugene E. Sitzmann was a new assistant pastor at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

SPORTS: The Fort Dodge Rifle team won the revolving trophy for the season after winning the Two Rivers League title with 11,826 points.
