The trial for a man accused of trying to kill his ex-wife in their Fort Dodge home has been set for May 14.
Larry D. Crawford, 43, 339 Loomis Ave., pleaded not guilty to attempted murder on Wednesday.
He is accused of assaulting Jolene Crawford, 39, and causing blunt force head trauma on March 2.
Officers responded to the Crawford home at 339 Loomis Ave. early that morning after receiving a call about an assault.
When they arrived, they found Jolene Crawford unconscious in her bedroom, according to police reports.
She was taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center, where she was treated for head trauma before being airlifted to a Des Moines hospital in critical condition.
Iowa Health System officials are not releasing Crawford's condition at the request of her family, though she was last reported to still be in critical condition as of March 11.
Larry Crawford is in the Webster County Jail on $1 million bond.
