WAUKEE - The Fort Dodge girls tennis team improved to 3-1 on the year with a 7-4 victory over Waukee Friday night.
After splitting the six singles matches, the Dodgers earned four of the five doubles contests to claim the dual.
Jaci Cochrane defeated returning state qualifier Kayla Kuethe in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, while Kari Grindberg and McKellen Glassell earned singles wins, as well.
"Jaci proved herself (Friday night)," FDSH head coach Karine Feddersen said. "Kayla is a defending state qualifier, and for Jaci to sweep her says a lot about where she is at right now.
"I was also impressed with Kari and McKellen, especially since we were without some girls."
Cochrane and Allison Birnbaum claimed a victory in the No. 1 doubles spot in straight sets, much to the delight of Feddersen.
