McSweeny’s holds voice recital today

McSweeny's School of the Performing Arts will present a spring voice recital at 4 p.m. today at the school, 1633 N. 29th St. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

The recital will feature vocal soloists, the Fort Dodge Area Youth Chorale and the Fort Dodge Area Children's Chorus, all voice students of MaryAnn McSweeny-Buhr. The recital is open to the public with no charge for admission.

The performance will include various genres of music including folk songs in English, Italian, French and Japanese; Italian art songs, a Spanish art song, a Latin art song, musical theater, pop, country and even Disney classics sung by students ranging in age from 5 to 18.

Pianist Michelle Havlik-Jergens, Webster City, will provide piano accompaniments for the recital.
