ANKENY - The Fort Dodge boys tennis team was defeated by Ankeny Monday night, 9-2.
Ben Ahlers picked up the lone singles win for the Dodgers (3-3 overall), while the doubles team of Brian Murman and Andrew Stover won in straight sets.
"Ankeny was a very solid team that unfortunately we didn't match up too well with,'' said Fort Dodge head coach Jared Feddersen. "We look to come out with a renewed sense of focus against Ames.''
Caleb Hendrickson, playing the No. 1 singles position, went to a tiebreaker with Ankeny's Luke Benna before falling.
Fort Dodge returns to action today at Ames.
