Due to several district track meets being either suspended or postponed because of inclement weather, results were not made available to The Messenger before deadline.
Scheduled meets in Class 4A, 2A and 1A were all incomplete, leaving the exact qualifying time unknown to keep from other schools receiving a competitive edge.
Fort Dodge completed its hosted 4A co-ed meet. St. Edmond ran in Emmetsburg.
Despite going on as scheduled, the results from Thursday night's Class 4A co-ed state-qualifying track meet at Dodger Stadium weren't made available due to two district postponements from inclement weather.
Both the Dubuque Hempstead and North Scott sites will now hold their state-qualifying events this evening.
"As a district site, you can choose to hold results if other districts are postponed," FDSH athletic and activities director Tom Kinseth said. "To keep the playing field even and not give an unfair advantage to the postponed districts, the coaches voted for everybody to hold the results from the media until (late Thursday night). If we had posted results, the other districts would've had an opportunity to choose substitutes in different events."
A complete list of state qualifiers will be in Sunday's edition of The Messenger.
State action in 4A begins Thursday at 9 a.m. inside Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
