To the editor:
Thanks so much to Ron Newsum, all the directors, Dr. Secor, nurses, staff guardians, and all those not mentioned who worked so hard to make this such a special day. A special thanks to the sponsors of the flight, without them this event would not have happened. Thank you. I'm sure I'm speaking for all the veterans, World War II and Korean War who attended. This event was planned and carried out with extreme accuracy by all who worked on it.
The day was a once in a lifetime event that was greatly appreciated. The memorials were a sight to behold; I looked at them in wonder. The changing of the guards at Arlington was awesome and carried out with great precision. The tour of Washington, D.C., was interesting, and the tour guide explained every building and point of interest with great knowledge.
Let's not forget the National Guard and Fort Dodge Fire Department for their gracious help. Thank you one and all for the day that will never be forgotten by all of the veterans who attended this flight. Most important are the people, adults and children, who sent us off and returned to welcome us home. A grateful thank you.
If any of you veterans are thinking about making this trip, get with it, you don't know what you're missing.
