Hartig — 95 years old

MANSON — Donald “Don” Lyle Hartig, of Manson, will celebrate his 95th birthday with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. May 26 at the United Church of Christ in Manson.

His family includes wife Velma; Bill and Carol Hartig, Spencer; Tom and Jan Hartig, Sequim, Wash.; Ron and Doris Hartig, Manson; and Art and Wanda Johnson, Indianola. He has six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Hartig was born May 28, 1917, near Pocahontas and lived most his life in Manson. He served in the United States Army for two years during World War II. He was a truck driver for many years, and he worked as a police officer and maintenance worker for the city of Manson. He is retired.
