UPDATE: Search focuses north of Fraser in Boone County

Statement from Shepard family will be read at 2 p.m. today in Dayton

Search efforts for Kathlynn Shepard have convened on the 300 block of Kale Road north of Fraser in Boone County. Items believed to belong to the two Dayton girls abducted Monday, including a backpack and a blue shirt, were recovered in the area, according to officials.

A media briefing is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Dayton Community Center, during which a statement from Shepard's family will be read.
