MANSON - The Manson Northwest Webster baseball and softball communities showed their support for missing 15-year-old Kathlynn Shepard on Friday.
During Friday night's varsity games, the Cougars reached out to recognize their opponent and rival on the field, Southeast Webster-Grand.
"It was a really neat atmosphere to be involved in,'' said Manson Northwest Webster baseball coach Mike Richman. "This was a chance to support a cause that was much bigger than baseball.''
The MNW baseball team had specially-made purple jerseys - Shepard's favorite color - and wore them during the game with the Eagles.
The Cougar softball squad wore purple ribbons, and purple balloons were released during the evening.
Shepard is a student in the Southeast Webster-Grand school district.
"On behalf of the Eagle baseball team and our entire community, we would like to thank Coach Richman and (MNW) for their show of support for Kathlynn Shepard and her family,'' said Southeast Webster-Grand baseball coach Brad Anderson.
