The Webster County Board of Supervisors approved several personnel items during its regular meeting Tuesday morning.
The board approved the seasonal temporary employment of Colton Becker as park ranger intern at $10 per hour. Also approved were the employment of Michael Schreiber as Class C equipment operator in the Secondary Road Department at $16.76 per hour and a pay increase for Sarah Feldmann, case manager, to $19.60 per hour.
The board also accepted the resignations of Tami Heun, child support recovery aide, effective today; Pamela Crouch, Community Services office manager, effective May 23; and Heidi Crane, part-time correctional officer, effective May 17.
In other business, the board approved manure management plan updates for Oak Lane in Section 4, Dayton Township; Grattenberg North in Section 8, Dayton Township; and Grattenberg South in Section 19, Dayton Township; and approved the submittal of Fiscal Year 2013 Iowa Department of Transportation secondary road budget amendment No. 1 to office of local systems.
Larry Osterhout, Community Emergency Response Team manager, addressed the board about the need for an assistant to the Webster County Emergency Management Agency director.
"If there is any way you can get an assistant that would be greatly appreciated," said Osterhout. "Tony (Jorgensen) has been busy with a communication center in Dayton, and now with the flooding he will be out of the office most of the time. He is working a lot and right now his office is locked, there is no one to take calls."
