To the editor:
I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped us while our house was burning down and afterward. For example, the Barnum and Clare fire departments. With their persistence, they kept our trailer and garage from going too. And to our neighbors. One neighbor saw my wife only had slippers on her feet while standing in the road that still had four to five inches of snow. She asked my wife what size shows she wore and drove her down the road to get her some clean clothes and shoes.
I was so caught up in seeing our house going up in smoke, I didn't notice it then. I did see two people - one under each arm leading my wife away from the house. I found out two things that day. That people as a whole are good at heart and are willing to help when the need comes. To everyone who offered a shoulder to cry on, clothing, food, money, furniture and a place to stay and all the prayers that were lifted that day and still are thank you.
I saw firsthand the true nature of man thank you all for being you and God bless you all.
