WEST BEND - Three local and regional acts are scheduled to perform at the SongFest June 9 at the Grotto of the Redemption, West Bend.
Starting at 2 p.m., Higher Power, a musical quartet from Des Moines, will take the stage, followed by the Algona Cornbelt Chorus.
The featured entertainment of the evening is the Benson Family Singers. The group features a mother, father and three young sons who have their roots in barbershop and bluegrass music. With most songs performed a cappella, the group has been featured at concerts and festivals in southern Minnesota for several years.
According to the official biography, "Higher Power sings gospel, southern gospel, progressive gospel, and contemporary music in its concerts. A typical concert will be filled with music, ministry moments, testimony and reflection."

The Algona Cornbelt Chorus is a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and has won numerous awards at regional and national competitions. Mike Scott, member of the Grotto's board of directors, is the president of the Cornbelt Chorus.
