A: John Daniel, who is still actively involved with the business, opened the pharmacy with his parents shortly after he graduated from pharmacy school. We're still a family business, with John Daniel III following in his father's footsteps as a pharmacist, and daughter Mary Kay operating Mary Kay's Gifts and Home Dcor at the pharmacy.

Q: How many full- and part-time employees do you have?

A: We have eight full-time employees and five part-time employees.

Q:What is Daniel Pharmacy's niche?

A: We're the only independent pharmacy in

Fort Dodge, so we can adapt quickly to meet customers' needs. We offer personalized service from experienced staff members who provide a friendly face behind the counter. To offer greater convenience for our customers, we are open from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Q:What do you like about being located in downtown

Fort Dodge?

A: The intersection of 12th Street and Central Avenue has a steady traffic count, so the downtown area has been a good location for us. We appreciate community leaders' and business owners' efforts to bring more people downtown.
