Cameron D. Carodine, the man who police say was the victim of an attempted murder, has been released from Trinity Regional Medical Center after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police Chief Tim Carmody said Carodine was shot in the hip by an unknown man shortly after noon in the 800 block of Fourth Ave. N.
Officers had been in the area investigating a report of gunshots being fired when the report of Carodine getting shot came in.
Investigators believe Carodine was shot by a black man during a fight.
Carmody asked those with any information on the case to call the Fort Dodge Police Department at 573-1426.
