A prairie walk at Brushy Creek State Recreation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. Meet at 260th Street on the west side of Brushy Creek lake.
According to biologist Bill Johnson, this is a remnant prairie about which there are many stories to tell. There should be natives in flower, including prairie phlox, pale purple coneflower, oxeye, porcupine grass and butterfly milkweed, he said.
Appropriate clothing for hiking is recommended for the informal walk. Wear insect repellent and bring water.
