Jennifer Jorgensen, a 2008 Southeast Webster-Grand graduate, will be inducted into the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Softball Hall of Fame during the state tournament in Fort Dodge on Friday.
Jorgensen was a five-time all-state selection, third team as an eighth-grader and first team each her freshman through senior years. She landed on the elite squad in '07 and '08. Jorgensen, who was the Class 1A Offensive Player of the Year in '05, '07 and '08, was picked as the 1A Player of the Year in '07 and '08.
Jorgensen finished her career with 442 hits, the most all-time in Iowa High School history and held a career .574 batting average. She scored 344 career runs, which is tied for the most all-time. She is also the state of Iowa and national record holder for career stolen bases with 380.
The Eagles qualified for three state tournaments during her tenure, finishing fifth ('05), third ('07) and sixth ('08). She was voted to the all-tournament team all three times, including being named captain in 2007.
Jorgensen is currently serving her second year as a graduate assistant for the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball program. She is the daughter of Mike and Virginia Jorgensen of Washington.
