Upcoming projects will mean drivers in Fort Dodge can expect detours and delays.
The following projects are in the works, weather permitting:
-Beginning at 6 a.m. today until the work is complete, the eastbound lanes of Fifth Avenue South between 31st and 32nd streets will be closed to through traffic. The westbound lanes will be converted to one lane of traffic in each direction. The Utility Department will be repairing a water main break on Fifth Avenue South. Detours will be put in place.
- Thursday morning, 10th Avenue North between North 29th Street and North 32nd Street will be down to one lane of traffic due to construction activities. Flaggers will be present in the area of the lane closure to direct traffic. This lane closure will be in place through Friday.
- Thursday, beginning at 7 a.m. until work complete, traffic on the North Third Street bridge will be reduced to one lane of traffic to allow for bridge inspection to take place. Flaggers will be in place and detour signs will be posted. Drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching the bridge. It is anticipated the work will take two days to complete. Both lanes of traffic will be open on Thursday night. The inspection will begin again on Friday at 7 a.m.
- Beginning Monday from 6 to 9 a.m. Central Avenue will be closed from Eighth Street to Ninth Street and from Eighth Street from First Avenue South to Central Avenue. Residents can contact the Engineering Department at 576-3601 with any questions.
