To the editor:
As the summer winds down and the kids go back to our schools, It Gets Better FD & Beyond would like every child to know they have us in their corner.
Not only do you have our support, but there is a whole community core out there with compassionate hands reaching out to you as well.
In particular, we wish to applaud Randy Buenting and American Concrete for feeling strongly about bullying, and becoming part of the solution.
Randy designed a community truck that displays as a moving billboard promoting "no hate", to be the friend, not the bully, and includes our logo. This takes courage and integrity to do what is right.
We are humbled and proud to have Randy and American Concrete beside us spreading the word of our advocacy and join us in our anti bullying campaign.
It takes a strong man to stand up for himself, but a stronger man to stand up for others. The multiple businesses and individuals that have come to our side to help empower youth together is proof the community is ready for change. And for this, we are grateful.
IGBFD is not concerned about winning any popularity contest. Its about saving lives. Period.
Let's keep Fort Dodge and its surrounding communities getting better and show the rest of Iowa we can lead by putting our kids first.
We wish everyone a safe and happy return to all our surrounding schools' kids.
It can only get better.
