To the editor:
Upper Des Moines Opportunity would like to express our appreciation to all of those who were involved in this year's Back to School Bash. The bash was held on Aug. 6 in conjunction with the National Night Out at Corpus Christi. Our sincere thanks go out to Corpus Christi for providing the venue, city of Fort Dodge for letting us collaborate with them, to the Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way for supplying the back packs this year, to the agency providers who sponsored activities and prizes for the children, to Iowa State University and the 4-H Douglas Dreamers for packing the back packs and storing them until the day of the event, to the volunteers, to the community and the businesses who donated school supplies and/or monetary donations.
UDMO will continue to receive monetary donations and school supplies which can either be mailed or dropped off at UDMO, 900 Central Ave., Suite 11 (Trolley Center) Fort Dodge, IA 50501 or call 576-7774.
At a time when the impact of increased costs of daily living is felt by all, enabling families to acquire basic school supplies for their children's education is especially important. From all of us at UDMO, thank you very much.
Working together is making a difference in Webster County.
