A pair accused of killing a Fort Dodge man has had their trial scheduled after they pleaded not guilty to murder.

Ronald J. Dilley, 29, and Holly N. Ekstrom, 22, will stand trial in Webster County beginning Oct. 22 for the murder of Steven Fisher, 22, of Fort Dodge.

The couple filed written pleas of not guilty via their attorneys.

Dilley and Ekstrom have been held in the Webster County Jail since July 12, two days after Fisher's decomposed remains were discovered by a farmer in Otho. Fisher's identity was confirmed after his remains were sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation's crime lab. He was last seen by friends during the later part of the first week in July.

Investigators charged the pair with the crime the same day Fisher's remains were identified.

They are each being held on $500,000 bond.

A 2009 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High, Fisher worked at Liguria Foods in Humboldt at the time of his death. He was also an aviation electronics technician with the Air National Guard and a former newspaper carrier for The Messenger.
