Decker Truck Line received recognition at the Iowa Motor Truck Association's Best of the Best awards luncheon held Sept. 18 in Okoboji at the IMTA's Annual Management Conference.
Decker Truck Line received the 2013 IMTA Fleet Safety Award for Truckload Carriers 10-15 million miles.
Jim Wilkins, senior vice president safety and human resources, accepted the award from Great West Casualty Co., sponsor of the award. As an award winner, Decker has demonstrated a continued commitment within the company to make safety a top priority.
Decker Truck Line was recognized for Fleet Maintenance Operations Award-Company. Jeremiah Rossmanith, director of maintenance, accepted the award. Kyle Jackson, shop manager-Ft. Wayne, Ind., terminal received recognition for his nomination as Fleet Maintenance Professional's Award-Individual. Sponsored by Midwest Wheels Cos., companies and individuals who have shown a commitment to their maintenance activities are acknowledged.
Sue Anderson, fleet manager-Fort Dodge terminal, and Al Henderson, fleet manager-Missoula, Mont., terminal, both received recognition for their nominations as Dispatcher of the Year.
Sponsored by IMTA, individuals who excel in the area of operations are recognized. Mark Gleason, general manager of flatbed operations, was recognized for having completed IMTA's 2013 Leadership Class. Dean Filmer was recognized as a member of IMTA's 2013 Iowa Road Team. The Iowa Road Team is a group of professional drivers selected each year to represent the trucking industry. While they remain full-time drivers, these individuals take several days out of their schedules throughout the year traveling the state in support of the trucking industry.
