The St. Edmond volleyball team lost a tight four game match to Iowa Falls-Alden on Thursday night.
The Gaels dropped the first game 29-27. They bounced back with a 25-21 win.
Iowa Falls-Alden closed out with 26-24, 25-21 victories.
"Our new rotation has really started to click and we proved that we are able to play with a quality program like Iowa Falls-Alden,'' said St. Edmond head coach Dee Huss. "I am very proud of my girls and the effort they showed.
"We have been working extremely hard all season and we are coming together and starting to peak at the right time. It was great volleyball to watch and total teamwork.''
Madeline Baldwin led the Gaels with 14 kills and was 15-for-17 serving with two aces.
Alli Huss had 13 kills and Anna Yung had 11 kills and was 14-for-15 serving.
Paige Savery led the defensive effort with 25 digs and was 12 of 12 serving with one ace.
Lauren Moeding was 16 of 17 serving and had a season high 46 assists.
Clare Flattery had eight kills with four blocks.
The Gaels are back in action on Tuesday when they host Hampton-Dumont. Action is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
