A countywide burn ban will be lifted this morning, almost two months after it was issued.
The burn ban will be lifted at 7 a.m., according to Webster County Emergency Management Coordinator Tony Jorgensen. Open burning is still banned in the city of Fort Dodge.
The ban went into effect on Sept. 5 after a request from the local volunteer fire chiefs. At the time, the amount of dry fields made them vulnerable to fires.
