The Iowa Central men's and women's cross country teams will host the ICCAC Region XI Championships today.
The meet will begin at 11 a.m. at Lakeside.
"We are very excited to be hosting the Region XI Championships," said head coach Dee Brown. "This will be a great opportunity for our athletes to get a chance to run on the national course and get a feel for what we need to do at Nationals."
Both programs have been a staple near the top of the Hill-N-Dale Division I Cross Country Poll.
The women have been ranked second for six straight weeks after debuting at No. 1 and the men debuted at No. 2 and have been in the Top-5 all season.
Iowa Central's first order of business will be at the Region XI Meet.
The women look to extend their string on dominance to 10 consecutive titles.
The men will look to regain the title after serving a suspension the last two seasons which did not allow them to compete as a team.
The men won four consecutive Region XI titles from 2007-2010.
After regionals, the Triton women can finally start thinking about their third straight national tile and fifth in six seasons.
For the men, it will be a welcome return to Nationals after not competing each of the last two seasons.
Last year the men competed as individuals and would have won a national title if allowed to accumulate team points.
The Tritons will also host the NJCAA?Div. I national meet on Nov. 9.
