DES MOINES - Dot Clark, 60, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, November 4, 2013 at By The Grace of God Church in Barnum, Iowa. Burial will follow at Greenfield Township Cemetery in Knierim, Iowa.
Dot was born October 27, 1953 in Linn Grove, Iowa to James and Vera (Nelson) Clark. She was a graduate of Buena Vista College and worked as a Social Worker for Mid Iowa Family Therapy and Lutheran Services of Iowa.
Dot was a warm and caring individual who always welcomed people into her home for a meal or a conversation. She was a foster parent for over 30 years with countless young people in her home. She loved them all like they were her own children. This love of young people led Dot to adopt 6 children. Her legacy of love continues on with all that she touched.

Survivors include seven children: Terry, Alecks, Denise, Patricia, Tasha, Cory, LeQuan; 13 grandchildren; brother, Don Clark; sisters: Trudy Crouse, Sandy Wilson, Jan Oberhart; sister in heart, Julie Kutz and countless very close friends. Dot was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: James and Terry; sister, Mary Lincoln; and her foster mother, Mary Cooper Behrends.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Grandview Park Funeral Home where a Vigil Service will begin at 6 pm. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church in Barnum.
