CEDAR FALLS - The destination is a familiar one, and now the opponent is as well.
The Iowa Central football squad will take on Rochester (Minn.) Community and Technical College in the 2013 Graphic Edge Bowl on Sunday, Dec. 8, inside the UNI-Dome.
Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
The Tritons (5-5 overall) square off with the seventh-ranked (NJCAA Div. II) Yellow Jackets (10-1) for the third time in the last nine postseasons. Head coach Kevin Twait's program also faced Rochester in the 2005 Graphic Edge Bowl and the 2010 North Star Bowl - both won by Iowa Central.
''They're a tremendous opponent; we're very fortunate to have this challenge in front of us,'' Twait said. ''Rochester's a very traditionally-strong football team that just captured their Minnesota state championship with a (27-14) victory over Central Lakes College (last Sunday).
''We're just excited to be able to prepare for one more game. We've won three of our last four and righted the ship after a tough stretch in the middle of the season. The kids are really fired up.''
The Tritons defeated Ellsworth (21-20) and North Dakota Science (19-15) in their last two games to keep their season alive.
''When you're a kid in high school, you always dream of playing your last game at the UNI-Dome,'' Twait said. ''We never take this opportunity for granted. The extra practice and preparation time is beneficial, but the bottom line is that we're thrilled to be heading back to Cedar Falls.''
Rochester's lone loss came Oct. 19 at Minnesota West, 32-24.
