A minivan crashed into the side of a semi trailer Monday afternoon at the crossroads of U.S. Highway 169 and the eastbound off-ramp of U.S. Highway 20.
Five people from the van were taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, said Josh Van Waes of the Webster County Sheriff's Department. Names were not available at press time.
The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. The Chevrolet minivan failed to yield to the northbound semi truck and crashed into the side of the trailer, going under it, Van Waes said. He said it was unclear which way the van was going when it attempted to cross the northbound lane.
