DAKOTA CITY - Lucinda (Cindy) M. Besaw, 61, of Dakota City died Wednesday November 20, 2013 at the Paula Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge, surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday November 23, 2013 at the Faith United Methodist Church, 107 4th Street North, Humboldt with Reverend Christy Ehrle officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 - 3 P.M. Saturday before the service. Burial will take place at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humboldt County food pantry.
Cindy the daughter of Gerald and Rose (Smith) Smith was born December 26, 1951 in Livermore, Ia. She attended and is a graduate of Humboldt High School. After high school she went on to earn her certificate in cosmetology. She has been working here as a beautician in the community for over 35 years.

On September 22, 1973 she was united in marriage to Patrick Besaw, in Humboldt, IA. Together they raised two daughters, Angelique Berry & Jessica Craighton.
Cindy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a unique relationship with each one, which she enjoyed very much. Together Cindy and Pat spent many hours riding motorcycle. They often took short vacations on the motorcycle with their great friends. For many years they attended the Davis Rally in New Hampton, IA. Cindy also loved collecting depression glass and cardinals, going antiquing with her friends. She enjoyed sitting by the fire ring in their yard surrounded by her family and friends. Whoever would be grilling supper would always keep one on the fire until it was nice and burnt for her. She was a hard worker, always giving so much. Cindy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Cindy is survived by her husband of 40 years Pat Besaw; daughter, Angelique (Matthew) Berry; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mitchell & Hunter Berry; daughter, Jessica (Jeremy) Craighton; grandchildren Lucas & Hannah Collins, Evan, Matthew, Brayden, & Trent Craighton. Brothers, Ron (Teresa) Smith of Humboldt, Mel (Jenean) Smith of Dakota City; sisters, Brenda (Bart) Sorensen of Dakota City, and Shawn (Terry) Hansen of Nisswa, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Rose Smith; infant brother Gene, and a infant child.
