To the editor:

On Nov. 16, community volunteers joined together to go to 26 family homes and install materials to lower their winter heating costs. The event was sponsored by Central Iowa RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) serving Webster County. Funds for the program came from a weatherization grant provided by the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service. Our thanks to ICVS for its support and thanks also to our local Walmart for providing a discount on the cost of materials purchased.

Many thanks also go to the hard-working volunteers for their efforts to make the lives of low-income and elderly citizens of the Fort Dodge area a little easier. A total of 30 volunteers from RSVP, New Covenant Church, Grace Lutheran Church and Rabiner Boys Home did an excellent job getting these homes weatherized.
