Jonathan White charged in burglary
Jonathan David White, 33, 311 First Ave. S., was charged with third-degree burglary, three counts of forgery and two counts of four-degree theft Saturday morning.
Magistrate William Habhab set bail at $5,000 for each of the burglary and forgery charges for a total of $20,000 and $1,000 for the remaining theft charges for an additional $2,000.
According to the criminal complaint, the burglary charge stems from a break-in on Feb. 17 at a Fort Dodge residence. Two of the forgery charges and one of the fourth-degree theft were the result of White allegedly having property from the home and forging several of the victim's checks.
The additional forgery and theft charges are the result of White allegedly signing his name to a charge account at a Fort Dodge business for the purchase of tools on April 24.
Habhab scheduled a preliminary hearing and bond review for Friday.
