No. 10 SCC girls

win third straight

ROCKWELL CITY - The 10th-ranked (Class 2A) South Central Calhoun girls downed No. 15 (2A) Pocahontas Area by a 58-49 final Tuesday night.

Haley Birks poured in 21 points for the Titans (13-2 overall).

Kori Assman also contributed 12 points for South Central Calhoun, while Tyffaney Toms netted 10.

For the Indians (10-3), Elle Ruffridge tallied a game-high 23 points. Macey Bales added 10.

STORM LAKE - The top-ranked Newell-Fonda girls cruised to a 69-32 victory over Storm Lake St. Mary's on Tuesday night.

Brianna Wells led the Mustangs (13-1 overall, 5-0 Twin Lakes Conference) with 20 points. Renee Maneman had 17.

Jasmine Demers had 17 for St. Mary's.

ALGONA - The Algona girls had no trouble with Clarion-Goldfield Tuesday night, cruising to a 48-25 victory.

Tangy Wiseman paced the Bulldogs (8-6 overall, 6-5 in the North Central Conference) with 15 points, while Courtney Groen contributed nine.

Maddie Disney finished with 10 points for the Cowgirls (8-7, 6-7). Jossie Sann added nine.

No. 9 Cougars cruise

MANSON - The ninth-ranked (Class 2A) Manson Northwest Webster girls trounced Southeast Webster-Grand by a 66-28 count Tuesday night.

Jocelyn Keller sparked the Cougars (10-2 overall, 2-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference) with 17 points.

Faith Troshynski (12), Cloie Herzberg (11) and Brenna Peters (10) were the other top offensive performers for Manson Northwest Webster.

Pacing the Eagles (4-10) with nine points was Kierra Eldridge.
